Tilokchandji Shah envisioned building a Dharamshala in Palitana Gujrat. This became reality with the blessings of Param Pujya Chandran Sagarji Maharaj Saheb and with the help from devotees. Tilok Darshan Dharamshala has air conditioned rooms to accommodate families. For the security of all visitors, the Dharamshala is equipped with CCTV.
Tilok Darshan is on Taleti Road, which is within walking distance to the Main Temple in Palitana. Palitana is located in the western Indian State of Gujarat, 51 kms Southwest of Bhavnagar on the Shatrunjay Hills.
The Main Temple at the top of the mountain is dedicated to Shri Adinath Bhagwan. There are 3800 steps to reach the temple. There are more than 1300 temples located on the Shatrujaya hills, exqusitely carved out of marble. Palitana is one of the few places on the world where one can indulge in the culture of jainism. The artistry and sculpture of these temples illustrate the ancient are with religious depications. Palitana is considered to be one of the most scared tirths (places) for the jain community it is said that every jain should visit Palitana once in their lifetime.
The first Jain Tirthankar, Shri Adinath Bhagwan, visited the sacred place 99times. The tirth is considered to be eternal. The ancient name of the city of Palitana was Padliptapur, In the past this mountain was also called Pundarikgiri. Palitana is the city of temples, which all jains take pride in.
